Giveaway Figure: New Machine Guns

Coca Cola (Japan) Company Ltd. had been practicing a campaign of Kinnikuman figure since the end of January.

If you bought certain type of canned coffee at certain vending machine, you could get a chance of winning a pair of Kinnikuman characters.

The pairs were those that appeared in "The Dream Chojin Tag Team" chapter.

With the catch line "They work as a team!", the characters all dressed up in some kind of profession.

For example, Most Dangerous Combo acted as firefighters. My adorable Buffaloman was dressed up as ramen shop staff along with Mongolman.

The official website said target vending machines carried a sign of Kinnikuman character.

I was excited at the campaign, but could not find any participating machine nearby, so I almost forgot about it...until this weekend...

I found one while window-shopping...It's Brocken Jr.!
I was frolicking like a child. So excited that I went on to take a picture.

I realized that not all cans carried the giveaway figures, meaning the system was merchandising sweepstakes.

I was able to obtain one with the prize at third try.

The stars-and-stripes duo!

I drew Terryman and Geronimo who formed "New Machine Guns".

They were dressed up as cops; Terryman as police inspector and Geronimo as ID officer.

As a fan of "Cold Case", "Body of Proof" and "Forensic Files", I was quite delighted at the pick.

Besides, I like Geronimo since he is intelligent. Intelligent enough to assist Dr. Bombe at operation. Well, I like Terryman too, because of his kind heart. Oh well, I like almost all Kinnikuman characters anyways.

Note that these figures are not just for decorating, but they all have unique purposes.

Geronimo serves as eyedrop holder.

Terryman serves as eyeglasses holder.

This is another reason I was delighted to pick this pair.

From the perspective of purposes, I thought 4D Killer Combo (Pentagon and Black Hole) unattractive, since they respectively serves as bandage/earpick holder.↓

Late at night that day, while jogging, I found another vending machine just like the first picture, this time quite near our home.

Seeing me so excited, my husband went to the same two vending machines the next day to try his luck for me; however, after drawing blank for seven times and left with seven cans, he gave up and returned home.

Online rumors said this lottery was quite hard to win. One statistically commented that if you were extremely lucky, you could win at 1-in-4 chance.

Two days later when I visited Coca Cola's website, it no longer showed the campaign. I guess I was just in time and fortunate.
