[Attack on Titans]Tin badges, rubber coasters, Kyoro-chan in cosplay...New mascot lineup at Seven Eleven!
It was a damp day today, with grey clouds hanging very low and humid air sticking to my skin. I did not feel like fixing food, so my husband drove to Seven-Eleven. Not only did he buy spaghetti with meat sauce, cheesecakes, and cookies (personally, spaghetti with meat sauce and cheesecakes are Seven-Eleven's best products! The meat sauce has a subtle aroma of red wine and freshness of vegetables. Its faint sweetness is right for general Japanese people's taste), but he also brought home some other surprises.
There were some left-overs from last month's collaborative raffle campaign (for details, see the articles of May, 2015 with Attack on Titans label). He won two sticky notes, one pair of satin stickers (with Hange and Levi), Jean's mini mascot, and a plate with Eren awaken from a nap.
I decided to use this plate instead of decorating. The oval space can be used to place coffee cup.
Below is the new lineup of "Attack on Titans" novelties that were sold in Seven Eleven.
Rubber coasters: the design of the characters are from Seven-Eleven's collaborative campaign. Remember the melamine coffee cup from article dated May 30, 2015? The illustration is similar to this:
I now have Eren, Mikasa and Levi. Krista is the sole character missing in this series. The upper part of coaster is laced with leaf motif around the frame that surrounds the character's face. The rear is decorated with harlequin print with white in common to three characters. There are no shadings in their faces unlike the drawings on the packages, which makes the characters have a simple look. But overall, I am satisfied with the design.
Tin badges: It offers three kinds of illustration (Scenes from "No Regrets", super deformed version, and Seven-Eleven's collaborative campaign version).
"No Regrets": two
Super deformed: five
Collaborative campaign: four
Super deformed version has camouflage pattern while The collaborative campaign version has horizontal stripes in the background.
This time, no duplicates; not bad, isn't it? I was relieved to discover super deformed Armin in the last package.
His worried look is also luverly♪
By the way, below is Morinaga's vintage ad (1936). Little children holding Morinaga's signature caramel boxes running around while the birds are flying above their heads. The artless elegance of the picture appears novel even in the eyes of 21st century audience.

The tin pencil case with Hi-Chew in article of May 30, 2015 is also from Morinaga (forgot to mention).
Kyoro-chan--a bird-like mascot representing another major product called Chocoball--impersonates four main characters of "The Attack on Titans", that is, Eren, Mikasa, Levi and Erwin.
This is how original Kyoro-chan looks like:
Left to right: Eren, Mikasa, Levi and Erwin. Each characters' distinctive features are expressed in eyes, eyebrows, and accessories around the neck.
For example, the white scarf, unique to Levi's uniform, is painted around Levi version's figure.
The distinctive "Flügel der Freiheit" is also printed on their backs.
The box includes a small package of chocoballs.
”Fall in!". This is how they look inside curio cabinet.
