Inspired by websites posting vintage ads, I decided to post the ones I found during my trip to Morioka, Iwate Prefecture.
These are displayed at Iwate Prefectural Museum. The museum exhibits materials on history, folklore, fauna and flora related to local area.
These ads were created to attract tourists to Iwate.
Regrettable that flashlights are casting a glare in all three pictures...I must improve my skill...
Titled "The Flowers of Morioka", this one is my favorite. A scenery of Mogami River in May is depicted with straight lines and geometrical designs. Although it was created in 1939, it has a timeless refined taste.
Title: "Hanamaki's Hot Spring Village". Hanamaki is a rural area where numerous hot springs well up. This was created in 1950 as a collaboration project of Hanamaki Tourism Association and Sendai Railway Bureau.
